Newport Jazz Festival
Founded in 1954, the Newport Jazz Festival is one of the premier jazz festivals in the world. This year, the popular event took place August 5–7, 2011 and featured some of the biggest names in jazz, including both Wynton Marsalis and Grammy winner Esperanza Spalding. Berklee Summer in the City
Boston’s Berklee College of Music brings live music to the city’s neighborhoods with the Berklee Summer in the City Series. Featuring more than 70 events across the city – and greater Boston – and culminating with the Beantown Jazz Festival taking place September 23–25, 2011.
