NGAM sponsoring new continuing education service with Asset TV

Natixis Global Asset Management has signed on as sponsor of Akademia, an online training tool for financial advisors (FAs) in the United Kingdom. Content from the site has been approved for continuing education and helps advisors meet professional development requirements under the new Retail Distribution Review (RDR) regulations in the U.K.

RDR, which became effective in January, requires advisors in the U.K. to demonstrate a higher level of continuing professional development (CPD), including 35 hours of continuing professional development annually, of which 21 hours must be considered structured learning. Content from the Akademia program helps advisors meet these annual requirements.

NGAM is sponsoring the Savings and Investment section on Akademia and is producing a series of six videos based on its Durable Portfolio Construction philosophy which focus on risk management and portfolio construction topics. Subjects slated for the Akademia channel include Risk Budgeting, Putting Risk First, Maximizing Diversification, Using Alternative Investments, Making Smarter Use of Traditional Asset Classes, and Maintaining a Consistent Investment Approach.

London-based Asset TV launched the Akademia site with the specific purpose of providing advisors with an online training channel that helps them meet CPD and business development requirements. It provides a secure, one-stop training center for advisors. All content is approved and accredited (where appropriate) by industry bodies to ensure that content is at the required level and counts toward achievement of an advisor’s statement of professional standing (SPS).
