Newport Jazz Festival
Founded in 1954, the Newport Jazz Festival is one of the premier jazz festivals in the world. In 2011 the popular event took place August 5–7 and featured some of the biggest names in jazz, including both Wynton Marsalis and Grammy winner Esperanza Spalding.

Berklee Summer in the City
Boston’s Berklee College of Music brings live music to the city’s neighborhoods with the Berklee Summer in the City Series. Featuring more than 70 events across the city – and greater Boston – and culminating with the Beantown Jazz Festival which took place September 23–25, 2011.
